How to Send Personalized Activation Links ?

This guide walks you through how to use MailerLite to send emails with unique activation links to each member, using a CSV file.

 Step 1 – Create a Free MailerLite Account

  1. Go to https://www.mailerlite.com

  2. Click Sign up 

  3. Enter your email address and create a password

  4. Complete the account setup (you’ll need to verify your email and fill in a few business details)


Step 2 – Prepare Your CSV File

Your file should include at least the following columns:

First Name Last Name Email Activation Link
Sarah Dupont sarah@example.com https://yourlink.com/abc123
 

 Save your file as a .CSV


Step 3 – Import Your Contacts into MailerLite

  1. In MailerLite, go to > Subscribers

  2. Click Add subscribers

  3. Choose Import from a CSV or TXT file

  4. Upload your CSV file and click on Import Subscribers

  5. Match each column to the right field:

    • First Name → NAME

    • Last Name → LAST NAME

    • Email → EMAIL

    • Activation Link → Create a New TEXT field called ACTIVATIONLINK

  6. Click Finish importing


Step 4 – Create a New Email Campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns

  2. Click Create campaign

  3. Select Regular campaign

  4. Enter a campaign name (e.g. Send Activation Link)

  5. Click Next: Content


Step 5 – Design the Email

  1. Choose Drag & drop editor

  2. Add a Text block

  3. Write your message and insert merge tags using the # Variable icon in the text toolbar:

    • Click the # icon to open the list of variables

    • Select your fields (e.g. First Name, Activation Link) from the list

  4. Match your logo or customize the layout as needed
  5. Click Done editing

 Step 6 – Send a Test Email

  1. Click Preview & Test

  2. Choose Send a test email

  3. Send it to your own email to make sure everything looks right


 Step 7 – Review & Send

  1. Click Done editing 

  2. Review everything

  3. Click Send now or Schedule for later
